Praram 9 Hospital Receives AREA 2026 Award in the Health Promotion Category for the "Happy Kidney, Happy Life" Project, Promoting Knowledge on Kidney Health, Prevention, and Treatment

Praram 9 Hospital has received the Asia Responsible Enterprise Awards 2026 (AREA 2026) in the Health Promotion category for the "Happy Kidney, Happy Life" project, a project resulting from the collaboration of medical personnel and network partners to help kidney disease patients, especially those in provincial areas, gain greater access to information on health care, treatment, and appropriate treatment options.

The AREA Awards are organized by Enterprise Asia to recognize organizations across Asia that operate with responsibility toward society, the environment, and governance (ESG). The Health Promotion category is presented to organizations that contribute to promoting the well-being of communities and society on a broad scale.

Dr. Wittaya Wanpen, Deputy Managing Director, Praram 9 Hospital, said that this award is an encouragement to all personnel who have worked together to drive this project from the beginning and reflects that proactive work for society can truly take place within the context of a private hospital.

"Thailand has a large number of patients with end-stage kidney disease, and the number of new patients continues to increase every year, while the number of kidney transplant procedures that can actually be performed nationwide remains greatly limited. The Happy Kidney, Happy Life project was therefore established with the intention of bringing knowledge about kidney disease to patients on a broader scale, especially those living in provincial areas, so that they become aware of kidney health and are able to take comprehensive care of their own health and that of their families, covering everything from prevention to treatment and the care of patients with highly complex conditions."

The "Happy Kidney, Happy Life" project is carried out through three main approaches:

Providing knowledge to the public and patients through seminars and educational activities on kidney disease, covering health care for disease prevention and a proper understanding of treatment options, including the Home Coming Day activity, which provides an opportunity for kidney transplant recipients to share their firsthand experiences in order to reduce concerns among those who are considering treatment options.

Developing the capabilities of medical personnel through training programs for healthcare teams in regional areas to strengthen their ability to care for and provide consultation to patients with chronic kidney failure, covering prevention, patient care, and treatment through kidney transplantation, enabling people to gain broader access to treatment.

Conducting social awareness campaigns by organizing public relations campaigns to promote organ donation and build awareness and positive attitudes toward organ donation throughout society.

Dr. Wittaya added that the success of this project has been made possible through the cooperation of many parties and serves as a driving force for Praram 9 Hospital personnel to continue its mission of patient care and disease prevention.

"Good kidney healthcare must cover every stage, from prevention before illness, treatment at each stage of disease, to the care of patients requiring highly complex treatment. Praram 9 Hospital is ready to share this knowledge in every aspect with both the general public and medical personnel in all regions."

Those who wish to receive consultation regarding kidney disease and kidney transplantation may contact the Kidney Disease and Transplantation Institute, Praram 9 Hospital.
