Sharing Insights and Best Practices with Healthcare Leaders from Across Asia
Praram 9 Hospital welcomed healthcare executives and professionals from across Asia as one of the host hospitals for the Hospital Tour organized as part of Hospital Management Asia 2026 (HMA 2026). The visit brought together a delegation from Singapore General Hospital (SGH) and HMA 2026 participants for an exchange of insights on hospital management, service design, patient experience, quality, and healthcare technology.
The Hospital Tour offered participants an opportunity to go beyond presentations and experience Praram 9 Hospital’s operations firsthand, gaining insights into how the hospital applies service design, digital technology, and multidisciplinary collaboration to continuously enhance patient care.
Hospital Management Asia (HMA) is an annual regional platform that brings together healthcare leaders and professionals from across Asia to exchange knowledge, experiences, and perspectives on hospital management and healthcare transformation. HMA 2026, held on September 2–3, 2026, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center in Bangkok, marked the organization’s 25th anniversary under the theme “25 Years of Impact: Leading Change that Delivers.” As part of the event, Hospital Tours were organized before and after the conference, giving participants the opportunity to learn directly from leading hospitals through firsthand experiences.

The delegation was welcomed by Dr. Satian Pooprasert, Chief Executive Officer of Praram 9 Hospital, together with members of the hospital’s executive management team, including Dr. Wittaya Wanpen, Deputy Managing Director overseeing Business Development; Dr. North Techawathanawanna, Deputy Managing Director overseeing Medical; Dr. Keeranuch Reowchotisakul, Deputy Managing Director overseeing Nursing and Medical Services; Asst. Prof. Dr. Korpong Rookkapan, Deputy Managing Director overseeing Quality and Operations; and Miss Kamaporn Tumpipit, Deputy Managing Director overseeing Finance and Accounting.

During the visit, the executive management team shared Praram 9 Hospital’s organizational development direction and experiences across medical care, service delivery, quality management, and technology, highlighting how these elements are integrated to support the hospital’s continued development.
Putting Patient Experience at the Heart of Service Design
A key highlight of the knowledge exchange was the PR9 Patient Experience Model, which applies Design Thinking to develop a Service Blueprint that reflects the needs and experiences of patients throughout their healthcare journey.
The model was initially piloted at the Check-up Center and subsequently expanded into Smart Check-up and Smart Hospital initiatives. Its development is guided by three key principles: Decentralized, Personalized, and Seamless.
Together, these principles aim to create a more connected patient journey—from before a patient arrives at the hospital, throughout the care experience, to post-treatment follow-up. This approach reflects Praram 9 Hospital’s view that Patient Experience is an integral part of quality of care, extending beyond service delivery to encompass the overall patient journey.
Driving Transformation Through Four Strategic Directions
Praram 9 Hospital also shared its organizational development direction through four key strategies: Global Standard, World-class Hospitality, Efficiency with Collaboration, and Digital Transformation.
The hospital highlighted its capabilities as a tertiary-care hospital through 3 medical institutes and 29 medical centers, together with its ongoing development toward a Smart Hospital. The presentation also covered key initiatives including the Smart Patient Journey, which connects care across the treatment journey; International Patient Services, developed to support the needs of international patients; and the Kidney Transplant Program, demonstrating the hospital’s experience in delivering connected care across different stages of treatment.

Experiencing Smart Healthcare in Practice
Following the knowledge exchange, participants toured the Check-up Center, where Service Design and digital technology have been integrated into the patient journey. The tour showcased systems ranging from examination management and automated queue systems to Personal Health Records (PHR).
These solutions are designed to streamline the patient experience, reduce unnecessary steps and paper usage, and minimize errors associated with manual data entry.
The delegation also visited the Fix & Fit Institute for Pain Management and Wellness, which provides care for chronic pain conditions commonly experienced at different stages of life. Participants learned about the institute’s approach to chronic pain management through multidisciplinary collaboration and rehabilitation technologies.

The participation of Praram 9 Hospital in the HMA 2026 Hospital Tour reflects its commitment to knowledge exchange and collaboration with healthcare organizations across the region. The opportunity to welcome healthcare leaders from across Asia also provides a valuable platform for sharing experiences and perspectives, while bringing new insights back to support the continued development of service systems, operational excellence, and quality of patient care at Praram 9 Hospital.
