Praram 9 Hospital Advances the International Visiting Surgeon Program (VSP): Robotics Knee Replacement, Cohorts 3 and 4

Praram 9 Hospital continues to expand the role of the PR9 Robotic Knee Arthroplasty Training Center, a training center for robotic knee replacement surgery, through the ongoing organization of the International Visiting Surgeon Program (VSP): Robotics Knee Replacement, held for the 3rd and 4th cohorts on 6–7 June 2026 at Praram 9 Hospital.

This training marked another important milestone for the program. The 3rd cohort was the first to be opened to orthopedic surgeons from Thailand, while the 4th cohort welcomed orthopedic surgeons from Malaysia, reinforcing Praram 9 Hospital’s role as a regional center for learning in robotic knee surgery.

The two-day program was led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pruk Chaiyakit, a specialist in knee and hip surgery and Head of the Orthopedic Center at Praram 9 Hospital, together with Thailand’s expert faculty members, who closely shared their knowledge, techniques, and experience in robotic knee replacement surgery with participating surgeons.

The International Visiting Surgeon Program (VSP): Robotics Knee Replacement is an intensive training course designed to transfer knowledge and techniques in robotic-assisted knee arthroplasty, including both Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) and Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty (UKA), using the CORI Robotic System, a technology that supports surgical planning and enhances surgical precision.

Throughout the course, participants received both theoretical and practical training, covering patient assessment and selection, preoperative planning, preparation of the surgical team and equipment, operating room setup, and hands-on workshops using Sawbones simulation models. The program also provided opportunities for participating surgeons to exchange experiences, perspectives, and treatment approaches with Thai faculty members through discussions, Q&A sessions, and case studies related to robotic knee surgery.

The continued organization of this program reflects Praram 9 Hospital’s commitment to developing the PR9 Robotic Knee Arthroplasty Training Center into a regional hub for learning, knowledge exchange, and advancement of robotic knee surgery technology. The center also supports the enhancement of capabilities among Thai and international surgeons, contributing to the continuous advancement of standards in knee care.
