Praram 9 Hospital continues to advance international standards in medical treatment and education through the “PR9 Robotic Knee Arthroplasty Training Center,” a dedicated training center for robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery. Most recently, on May 17, 2026, the hospital welcomed a group of orthopedic surgeons from Malaysia to participate in an intensive training program on robotic-assisted knee replacement surgery, led by Assoc. Prof. Pruk Chaiyakit, M.D. together with a team of Thai specialists. This marked the second consecutive session held under the International Visiting Surgeon Program (VSP): Robotics Knee Replacement.
The training program focused on transferring knowledge and advanced surgical techniques in Robotic-Assisted Knee Replacement Surgery, covering both Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) and Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty (UKA), using the internationally recognized CORI Robotic System. The technology enhances surgical precision, minimizes damage to surrounding tissues, reduces postoperative pain, and supports faster patient recovery.
Participants gained comprehensive experience through both theoretical and practical training sessions, including pre-operative planning, surgical team and equipment preparation, and hands-on workshops using Sawbones simulation models. The program was conducted under the supervision of Thailand’s expert orthopedic faculty members and also encouraged close collaboration and exchange of medical experiences and treatment approaches among participating surgeons.
The continuation of this training program reflects the role of the PR9 Robotic Knee Arthroplasty Training Center as a regional hub for education and innovation in robotic knee surgery technology. Praram 9 Hospital remains committed to promoting knowledge exchange between Thai and international medical professionals to continuously enhance the standard of knee care for patients.
